About this deal

Product dimensions are stated with a battery / batteries, if they affect the overall dimensions of the product. You would be a hard one to please if you weren’t impressed with this saw when you took it out of the excellent stackable kitbox. TBH the Evolution rails work with the Makita saws as well - not quite as well finished as the Mak rails, and you can't use them together (unlike the Festool and Makita rails I use for my plunge saws), but they are a lot cheaper. There are 2 dust collection ports for maximum efficiency: one located below the blade and the other at the back of the saw.

Clearly brushless motors, bigger Ah battery packs and other tweaks make for a tool that is better value for money and has higher specs. Single lever depth control provides a maximum cut of up to 57mm and this saw is capable of bevel cuts up to 50°. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. With a compact and lightweight design achieved by a downsized motor, better placement of parts and using durable but light magnesiumdie-cast for base, blade case and safety cover. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.Frankly I think you'd be better off saving the money (on the guide rail and adaptor) and making yourself a saw guide from MDF and softwood instead, at least for a one-off. Working outside away from a power source clearly didn’t bother us at all as the spare battery was charged.

I cut 45mm thick, very dry beech with no trouble at all, although you do have to be careful not to force the tool, and you have to keep the blade straight in the cut so it does not bind or burn. The Makita DHS680 cordless saw has an efficient brushless motor that offers several advantages over brushed motors.

The Makita DHS680 features a vacuum extractor with an efficient sawdust collection system, which also works via mains power. Boasting a brand new brushless motor and some new in-built features, the DHS680 looks set to become one of the most popular cordless circular saws on the market.

The DHS680 is Makita's first brushless circular saw, which becomes one of the latest member of Makita's impressive line up of 18v Lithium-ion cordless tools. We will exchange or refund within the first 30 days if a manufacturers fault is found with this product. Another little recommend - if you need blades for the DHS680, switch to DW Extreme blades - in my experience they are better than the Mak blades (more durable, less likely to loose teeth if you hit metal, cut smoother, etc). This Makita also boasts an automatic speed function that regulates the blade speed according to load and the little blower aimed at the kerf near the built-in LED light helps clear the cut line.
